NTA to Release NEET UG 2026 Admit Cards Next Week; Over 25 Lakh Candidates Registered
Candidates are advised to keep their application numbers and dates of birth ready to access their hall tickets. Once downloaded, it is crucial to verify all details, including the candidate's name, photograph, signature, and the allotted exam center address. In case of any discrepancies, students must immediately contact the NTA helpdesk to ensure corrections are made before the exam day. The NTA has also released a detailed set of instructions regarding the dress code and prohibited items to maintain the integrity of the examination.
The 2026 edition of NEET-UG will be conducted in 13 languages across more than 500 cities in India and several international locations. The exam pattern remains consistent, featuring 200 multiple-choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology), out of which candidates must answer 180 within a duration of 200 minutes. The marking scheme includes four marks for every correct answer and a penalty of one mark for every incorrect response.
Medical experts and educators suggest that students focus on NCERT textbooks during these final weeks of preparation. Mock tests and previous years’ question papers should be prioritized to build speed and accuracy. The competitive nature of the exam is expected to be high this year, given the increased number of applicants vying for approximately 1.1 lakh MBBS seats and 28,000 BDS seats across the country.
Furthermore, the NTA has implemented enhanced security measures, including AI-based biometric verification and strict surveillance at all centers. Students are encouraged to visit their assigned centers a day before the exam to familiarize themselves with the location and avoid last-minute delays. The hall ticket will also contain a self-declaration form regarding health status and recent travel history, which must be filled out before reaching the venue.
As the countdown begins, the Ministry of Education has emphasized the importance of student well-being. Several state governments have set up mental health helplines to support students dealing with exam-related stress. The results for NEET-UG 2026 are tentatively expected to be announced by the second week of June, followed by the counseling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
