NIMCET 2026 Results Declared: NIT Jamshedpur Releases Rank List and Counselling Schedule
The declaration of results marks the beginning of the highly anticipated counselling process. According to the official notification issued by the organizing committee, the registration for choice filling will commence on July 3, 2026. Candidates are advised to carefully select their preferences for NITs, as the seat allotment will be strictly based on the merit rank and the sequence of choices locked by the aspirants. The first round of seat allotment is expected to be announced by July 12, 2026.
Experts have noted that the difficulty level of NIMCET 2026 was moderate to high, particularly in the Mathematics and Logical Reasoning sections. This has led to a slight shift in the expected cut-offs compared to the previous year. "The paper was well-balanced, but the analytical section required more time, which might result in a slightly lower cut-off for the top-tier NITs like Trichy, Surathkal, and Warangal," said Rajesh Iyer, a leading MCA entrance coach based in Hyderabad. He emphasized that students should not only look at the rank but also the specific strengths of each NIT's placement cell.
Participating institutes this year include NIT Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli, and Warangal. Each of these institutes has a specific number of seats reserved for different categories, including General, EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST. Candidates must ensure they have all relevant certificates ready for the verification process. The verification will happen online during the initial rounds, followed by physical reporting at the allotted institute for the final admission formalities.
Students are reminded that the scorecard is a mandatory document for the counselling process and must be downloaded before the link expires on the portal. In case of any discrepancies in the result or the rank, candidates should immediately reach out to the NIMCET helpdesk provided on the official website. The helpdesk will remain active throughout the counselling duration, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on working days, to assist students with technical and administrative queries. It is also recommended to keep a digital copy of the application form and the rank card for future reference.
