The full form of SSC CGL is Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level. Over the last decade, the SSC CGL exam has evolved significantly. Originally conducted as a pen-and-paper descriptive test, it transitioned to a completely Computer Based Test (CBT). In recent years, the commission has streamlined the process by reducing the number of Tiers from four to two, focusing on speed, accuracy, and comprehensive knowledge of the candidates.

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the 2026 exam:

• Nationality: Must be a citizen of India, Nepal, or Bhutan.
• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Specific posts like JSO require specific subjects (Math/Stats) at the 10+2 or degree level.

The final allocation is strictly based on these preferences and the candidate's rank.

The cut-off for 2026 will be determined by several factors:
