The National Testing Agency (NTA) is officially scheduled to release the admit cards for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 tomorrow, April 25. This year, a record-breaking 22.5 lakh candidates have registered for the examination, marking a significant increase from previous years. The exam is slated to take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, across 500 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Students are advised to keep their application numbers and dates of birth ready to download the document from the official NTA website.

In a press briefing held earlier today, NTA officials emphasized the importance of verifying all details on the admit card, including the candidate's name, photograph, signature, and the specific address of the allotted exam center. Any discrepancies must be reported immediately to the NTA helpdesk. The admit card will also contain a detailed set of instructions regarding the dress code and prohibited items. Due to the high volume of traffic expected on the server, the agency has deployed additional cloud resources to ensure the website remains accessible to all students simultaneously.

The NEET UG 2026 examination will follow the traditional pen-and-paper format. The duration of the test will be 3 hours and 20 minutes, covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Each subject will consist of two sections: Section A with 35 mandatory questions and Section B with 15 questions, out of which candidates must attempt 10. This flexibility was introduced to accommodate students from various state boards that might have different syllabus rationalizations.

Security measures at exam centers have been significantly bolstered this year. The NTA will be using AI-based facial recognition and biometric attendance to prevent impersonation. Furthermore, all centers will be equipped with jammers to block any electronic communication. Candidates are reminded to reach the exam center at least two hours before the commencement of the test to complete the frisking process. Late entries will strictly not be permitted after the gate closing time mentioned on the admit card.

Experts suggest that students should spend the remaining ten days focusing on mock tests and revision of the NCERT syllabus. Dr. Aruna Varma, a leading educationist, stated that 'The last week is crucial for mental composure. Students should avoid starting new topics and instead focus on their strengths and time management during practice sessions.' Following the exam on May 3, the provisional answer keys are expected by the third week of May, with the final results likely to be announced by mid-June 2026.
