With the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 less than a month away, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is preparing to release the hall tickets for the registered candidates. Official sources indicate that the admit cards will be available for download on the NTA website starting April 15, 2026. This year has seen a record-breaking 22.5 lakh registrations, marking a 10% increase from the previous year, reflecting the growing demand for medical and dental seats in India.

The exam is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM in a single shift. The test will be conducted in a pen-and-paper (offline) mode across 500+ cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Candidates are required to carry a printed copy of their admit card, a valid government ID, and a passport-sized photograph to the examination center. The NTA has emphasized a strict dress code to prevent malpractice, advising students to wear light clothes with half sleeves and avoid shoes with thick soles.

To ensure a fair examination process, the NTA has deployed advanced AI-based monitoring tools to detect any suspicious activity at the centers. Additionally, jammers will be installed in all sensitive centers to block communication devices. The agency has also increased the number of observers and flying squads to conduct surprise inspections during the exam hours. Students found using unfair means will face a permanent debarment from all NTA-conducted examinations.

As the final revision phase begins, experts recommend that aspirants focus on the NCERT textbooks for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Statistics from previous years show that nearly 90% of the questions are directly or indirectly derived from the NCERT curriculum. Mock tests should be taken during the actual exam timing (2:00 PM to 5:20 PM) to build stamina and improve time management skills. High-weightage topics such as Genetics, Human Physiology, and Organic Chemistry should be prioritized in these final days.

The result for NEET UG 2026 is expected to be announced by the second week of June, followed by the counseling process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the 15% All India Quota seats and respective state authorities for the 85% state quota seats. This year, several new government medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra are expected to start their first batches, potentially increasing the total number of MBBS seats available.
