IIT Delhi, the organizing institute for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026, has officially confirmed that the online registration process will commence on April 27, 2026. This announcement comes shortly after the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the final results and All India Ranks for the JEE Main 2026 Session 2. Aspiring engineers who have secured a position among the top 2,50,000 candidates in the JEE Main are now gearing up for the next level of the country's most prestigious engineering entrance test.

The registration portal will remain open until May 4, 2026, giving candidates a narrow window to complete their applications and upload necessary documents. The fee payment facility will be available until May 5. Officials have urged students to ensure their category certificates, particularly for OBC-NCL and EWS candidates, are issued after April 1, 2026, to comply with the latest reservation norms. Any discrepancy in documentation could lead to the cancellation of the candidature during the JoSAA counseling phase.

JEE Advanced 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on May 24, 2026. The exam will consist of two mandatory papers: Paper 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Both papers are held in a computer-based test (CBT) mode. The syllabus for this year remains consistent with the previous year, focusing heavily on application-based questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics that test the deep conceptual understanding of the candidates.

To assist students, IIT Delhi has also launched a mock test series on the official website. These practice tests are designed to familiarize students with the interface of the CBT and the varying pattern of multiple-choice and numerical-value questions. Experts suggest that candidates should focus on solving previous years' question papers from 2018 to 2025 to understand the evolving difficulty levels and the weightage given to different topics.

Admit cards for the registered candidates are expected to be released on May 18, 2026. Candidates are advised to keep their JEE Main application number and date of birth ready for the login process. As the competition intensifies, the cut-off for the General category is expected to hover around the 91st percentile, while significant variations are expected in the reserved categories based on the overall performance of the cohort this year.
