IIT Delhi, the organizing institute for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026, has officially released the exam day guidelines for the upcoming test scheduled for June 7, 2026. Approximately 1.9 lakh candidates who qualified through the JEE Main 2026 are expected to appear for the high-stakes exam, which serves as the gateway to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The exam will be conducted in two shifts: Paper 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.\n\nAccording to the official notification, candidates must report to their assigned exam centers at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the test. The reporting time is crucial for the biometric verification process, which includes thumbprints and iris scans. IIT Delhi has emphasized a strict dress code to prevent any form of malpractice. Candidates are advised to wear light clothes with short sleeves and open-toed footwear like sandals or slippers. Clothes with large buttons, brooches, or elaborate embroidery are strictly prohibited. Digital watches, mobile phones, calculators, and any form of electronic gadgets are banned inside the examination hall.\n\nProfessor Vikram Seth, the Organizing Chairperson, stated, 'Our primary goal is to ensure a fair and transparent examination environment. We have increased the number of security personnel and implemented advanced signal jammers at all 220 centers across India.' He also reminded students that appearing for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 is mandatory. If a candidate fails to appear for either of the papers, they will be disqualified from the ranking process.\n\nAdmit cards were made available for download earlier this week, and candidates are urged to check all the details, including their name, roll number, and photograph. In case of any discrepancy, students should immediately contact the JEE Advanced cell at IIT Delhi via the helpline number provided on the website. The exam will be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, and a mock test link is currently active on the portal to help students familiarize themselves with the interface.\n\nFollowing the exam, the response sheets are expected to be available by June 12, with the final results and the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling schedule likely to be announced by June 25. Candidates are advised to stay hydrated and maintain a calm mindset during the final week of preparation, focusing on revision and solving previous years' question papers to build stamina for the six-hour testing duration.
