The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is working on a war footing to conclude the evaluation of answer scripts for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations that concluded in March. According to senior officials at the board's headquarters in New Delhi, over 85% of the evaluation work is already complete. The board is now transitioning into the data verification and moderation phase, which is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of the marks uploaded by various regional centers.

This year, more than 35 lakh students appeared for the CBSE board exams across India and overseas. To expedite the process without compromising quality, CBSE employed an advanced AI-driven marking verification system that flags discrepancies in totaling or missing signatures of examiners. This technological intervention is expected to reduce the number of re-evaluation requests that typically flood the board office post-result declaration. The board has also increased the number of evaluation centers this year to over 4,000 to manage the high volume of scripts.

A spokesperson for the board, speaking on the condition of anonymity, stated, 'We are aiming for a mid-May release to ensure that students have ample time for college admissions and entrance exam counseling. The results for Class 12 will likely precede the Class 10 results by two days, as per our usual practice.' Students will be able to access their marksheets through multiple platforms, including the official CBSE website, the DigiLocker app, and the UMANG platform. The board will also continue its practice of providing digital migration certificates and pass certificates through DigiLocker.

In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the board has focused more on competency-based questions this year. Early feedback from evaluators suggests that while students found the science papers moderately difficult, the humanities and commerce streams saw a high level of performance. The board has also reiterated that no merit list will be published to avoid 'unhealthy competition' among students. Instead, the board will issue merit certificates to the top 0.1% of students in each subject.

Parents and students are advised to remain calm and avoid falling prey to rumors circulating on social media regarding 'leaked' result dates. Official notifications will be posted only on the CBSE website and their official X (formerly Twitter) handle. Following the results, the board will open the window for verification of marks and obtaining photocopies of evaluated answer books for students who are dissatisfied with their scores. This process usually begins within a week of the result announcement.
