CBSE Board Exams 2026: Results for Class 10 and 12 Expected by Mid-May; Evaluation Nearing Completion
This year, over 38 lakh students appeared for the board examinations across India and at several international centers. The evaluation process involved over 2 lakh teachers who were tasked with maintaining high accuracy levels while adhering to a strict timeline. To minimize errors, the board implemented a double-checking system where senior examiners verified a percentage of the evaluated scripts to ensure that the marking scheme was followed consistently.
In a move to modernize the result delivery system, CBSE has once again partnered with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to provide digital mark sheets and migration certificates via the DigiLocker platform. Students will receive their access codes through their respective schools a few days before the result declaration. This digital document will carry the same legal weight as the physical certificate, facilitating smoother college admissions for Class 12 graduates.
While the board will not release a traditional 'Toppers List' to avoid unhealthy competition among students, it will provide the pass percentages across different regions and categories. Last year, the Trivandrum region recorded the highest pass percentage, and officials are keen to see if this trend continues. The board has also set up a psychological counseling helpline, which will remain active before and after the result announcement to support students dealing with result-related stress.
For students who may not be satisfied with their scores, the board will open the verification and re-evaluation window exactly three days after the results are announced. The 'Compartment Exams' for those who failed to secure passing marks in one or two subjects are tentatively scheduled for July 2026, allowing students to save their academic year and proceed with higher education plans without a gap year.
