GBSHSE

The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) is the primary state-level education board in Goa, India. The GBSHSE was founded on May 27, 1975. Before its inception, schools in Goa were affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board. The board was created to provide a localized educational framework that caters to the specific cultural and academic needs of Goan students. It operates from its headquarters in Alto Betim, Bardez, Goa.

The jurisdiction of GBSHSE is limited to the state of Goa. All government, government-aided, and private schools within the state that offer secondary and higher secondary education are typically affiliated with this board. There are hundreds of schools across North and South Goa districts providing education under the GBSHSE curriculum.

The SSC (Class 10) examination is a critical milestone for students in Goa. The syllabus is designed to provide a broad foundation in various disciplines.

The evaluation includes a theory component (usually 70-80 marks) and practicals/projects (20-30 marks). Passing marks are set at 33% per subject.

The GBSHSE 2026 examinations are expected to follow the traditional annual cycle:

• HSSC (Class 12): Likely to begin in late February 2026 and conclude by mid-March 2026.
• SSC (Class 10): Likely to begin in early March 2026 and conclude by late March 2026.

Students enrolled in recognized schools in Goa are eligible to appear for the exams. The registration process is typically handled by the respective schools through the board's online portal.

• Regular Students: Must maintain a minimum attendance of 75% and complete internal assessments.
• Private Candidates: Can apply directly through the board under specific conditions.

The results for the 2026 exams are expected to be announced in May 2026. Students must score a minimum of 33% in both theory and practical exams separately (where applicable) to be declared successful.
