The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, popularly known as the 'Red Building of Dreams,' has officially released its final admission list for the MBA Batch of 2026-28. Following a rigorous selection process that included shortlisting based on CAT 2025 scores, followed by Group Discussions, Extempore speech, and Personal Interviews, the institute has offered seats to 287 candidates. This year, the cut-off for the general category was recorded at an unprecedented 99.45 percentile, reflecting the increasing competitiveness of the program.

FMS Delhi remains one of the most sought-after business schools in India, primarily due to its exceptional Return on Investment (ROI). With an annual tuition fee of less than Rs. 50,000 and average placement packages exceeding Rs. 34 lakhs per annum, it attracts the crème de la crème of MBA aspirants. The final selection criteria this year gave 50% weightage to CAT scores, 15% to the Personal Interview, 10% to the Extempore, 10% to Class 10 and 12 marks, and 5% to gender diversity, which has helped in maintaining a balanced classroom profile.

The admission office noted a significant increase in the number of non-engineering students making it to the final list. 'We have seen a 12% rise in candidates from humanities, commerce, and law backgrounds this year. This diversity is crucial for a rich learning environment in a management classroom,' stated the Admission Coordinator. The selected candidates are required to complete their document verification and pay the admission fee by April 25, 2026, to secure their seats. Failure to do so will result in the seat being offered to candidates on the waiting list.

For those on the waitlist, the institute expects to release the second list by the first week of May. Historically, the movement in the FMS waitlist is relatively low compared to the IIMs, as most students who get into FMS choose to stay due to the low fee structure. However, with the overlap of results from IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta, some movement is anticipated. Prospective students are advised to keep a close watch on the official FMS website, fms.edu, for real-time updates on waitlist status.

The academic session for the new batch is scheduled to commence in the first week of July with an intensive orientation program. The orientation will feature guest lectures from illustrious alumni and industry leaders, preparing the students for the rigorous two-year journey ahead. As the admission cycle for 2026 draws to a close, FMS continues to solidify its position as a top-tier institution that bridges the gap between affordable education and high-end corporate placements.
